Twas the night before Quiltmas...

This Christmas, we’re supporting Sophie Hayes Foundation and their Freedom Quilt initiative by donating squares of Liberty fabric on behalf of our clients.

What’s The Freedom Quilt?

To mark a new decade of supporting women survivors of modern slavery, Sophie Hayes Foundation have partnered with Liberty, the International Slavery Museum Liverpool and quilting expert Jenni Smith. Together they are embarking on an exciting year-long initiative, The Freedom Quilt, which will see women survivors from across the country unite over the traditional craft of quilting.

Because freedom is such an important part of life and work at Six, this festive season, we’re donating squares of Liberty fabric on behalf of our clients.

Every square will be stitched together to form part of the 7.5 sq. m masterpiece, telling a powerful story of trauma, rescue and recovery. This quilt will then go on display at the International Slavery Museum in Liverpool (and beyond) throughout 2022.

Crafted by hand

Alongside our fabric donations, we’ve hand crafted Christmas cards to send out to our clients, each one telling the story of Quiltmas and our ongoing partnership with Sophie Hayes Foundation. As well as designing the pattern ourselves, we’ve used a screen-printing technique to bring the cards to life. See for yourself…
